Hello all!

A little bit of housekeeping. I'm in the process of moving this course to here.

Lots of new features including updated forums, weekly flash fiction contests with prizes (yay, prizes!), more content, and easier search-ability.

I'd love to see you there. For more information visit me at annayeatts.com/write-stories

Learn to create stories that sell, not half-finished drafts you slog through only to receive yet another rejection letter.

From inspiration to final product, this course teaches the habits needed to become a productive working writer in the competitive short fiction market.

Learn techniques to hone your craft, strengthen your storytelling skills, & create stories that catch an editor's eye.

Stand out from the slush pile & ultimately sell more stories.

This is perfect & a skill that writers need to learn as much as structure and other essentials.

"I've found the authors who can learn to skillfully craft flash fiction are the ones who can then apply that same technical skill to a scene, a sequence, and then an entire novel." This. I've found my stories are short but I would like to gather up my skirts and make a run to pieces that are even longer than a few thousand words.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will you critique my stories?
The short answer is yes. The long answer is how you get access to me. I'm in and out of the forums as much as I can, but there are hundreds of students and only one of me. If you want a story critique, you'll have to go here: https://writeandsellshortfiction.teachable.com/p/manuscript-critique-service Sign up for a manuscript critique. That will ensure that I can give your story the attention that it needs. Your success is important to me.
Can I email you?
The short answer is yes. But again, I have hundreds of students, and while I try to get back to everyone as quickly as I can, if you have more than a quick question about how the course works or if you need feedback about your story or your career, you should consider signing up for either personalized coaching, small group critiquing, or a manuscript critique.
What if I want to work one-on-one with you?
That's my preferred way to work with students. It gives me a chance to understand your goals, your journey, and even your insecurities. I've been where you are -- struggling to sell stories that are immensely personal -- and looking for someone to show me the ropes of a complicated and overwhelming business. I can only take a few more personal students. My schedule is filling up far more quickly than I ever imagined. But I'll read and critique your manuscripts, watch for markets & submission calls that fit your works-in-progress, help you submit, & hold you hand through the process. I'm looking for a critique group, but I'd like your feedback as well. What do I do?
Why, join my small group critique sessions, of course! Warning: this group is limited to six students so sign up now if you're interested. You don't want to end up on a waiting list with a story burning a hole in your proverbial pocket! I run a small group critique session that exchanges manuscripts once a week. I throw in my feedback as well. You'll practice giving and receiving professional feedback just the way you're learning in this course. It's an invaluable skill to have as a professional writer. What if I want to self-publish?
There's a course for that as well. Kindle Publishing 101 I'll walk you through the in's and out's of how to get your manuscript ready for Amazon, formatted, and uploaded. It's not as easy as it looks, but never fear, you can definitely do it. https://writeandsellshortfiction.teachable.com/p/kindle-publishing
What do I do when I finish this course?
Well, head to the next one! Write Stories That Sell - Part II I go into a lot more detail about how to revise and rewrite your story, the small technical glitches that are standing in the way of publication, and much, much more. https://writeandsellshortfiction.teachable.com/p/edit-short-story-to-sell
